Versailles' Holy Grail one of The 10 Best Albums of 2011

According to the Venezuelan website, LaPatilla.com, Versailles' Holy Grail is considered one of the best albums of 20ll in the article "Los 10 mejores álbumes del 2011 que seguro no escuchaste en la radio, por @Gberincua" (Or in English: "The 10 best albums of 2011 that you probably didn't hear on the radio, by @Gberincua").

In this article, Versailles is named the best amongst recognized bands, such as Megadeth and Dream Theater (which some of the members themselves consider inspiration), so we translated their section of the article so that many fans can celebrate this accomplishment as well!

You can find the complete, original article in Spanish here.

Translation:

" Versailles is a Japanese, Visual Kei band that blends a visual style loaded with rococo elements with androgynous aesthetics, within a musical framework of rock, heavy metal and symphonic metal. Just four years after its founding, Versailles is considered one of the most important exponents of Japanese rock/metal and the world.

Their latest work, Holy Grail, was a worldwide success, which led them to tour Asia, Europe, and South America this year; in Venezuela they performed on November 11th, 2011 in the exhibition hall of the City Market in Caracas. Moreover, this record has earned the no. 1 position of the best selling albums of 2011 in Japan, according to CDJapan.

The experience of this album is unique. You'll really run into something exemplary, different, where you can almost feel the whole anime culture fused with the heavy metal. Versailles, in music, is unpredictable and charged with various emotions. Kamijo, responsible for vocals, will make you understand the music- even if it's in Japanese and you don't speak the language- with the power of his singing and great melodies that encompass Holy Grail.

One last tip before watching the video: in Japan this aesthetic is completely accepted and usual, so do not panic and enjoy this sub-genre of Japanese rock.

Unfortunately, we can't embed the music video because "Philia" is unavailable in the United States due to a trademark complaint. Regardless, we hope you enjoyed the article.

Congratulations, Versailles, we're very proud of you!
